The Confederation of African Football, (CAF) has condemned the behaviour of some players, and officials at the 2025 Nations Cup final clash between Morocco, and Senegal on Sunday.
It would be recalled that Senegal coach Thiaw ordered his players to leave the pitch after the referee awarded Morocco a debatable penalty shortly after ruling out his team’s goal.
CAF vowed to dish out necessary punishment to those found wanting as contained in a statement on their website on Monday.
The Statement Read: “The Confédération Africaine de Football (“CAF”) condemns the unacceptable behaviour of some players and officials during the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 Final between Morocco and Senegal in Rabat last night.
“CAF strongly condemns any inappropriate behaviour which occurs during matches, especially those targeting the refereeing team or match organizers.

“CAF is reviewing all footage and will refer the matter to competent bodies for appropriate action to be taken against those found guilty.”
Aftermath of the walk-off, crisis brewed in the stands as Senegalese supporters were outraged, with some attempting to storm the field and launch objects at security personnel.
One steward had to be stretchered away, injured, while riot police were sent to deal with their Senegalese supporters.
It would be recalled that the Senegalese contingent had accused Morocco of not providing enough security personnel for them ahead of the final.
