Despite TAMPAN Ban, Iyabo Ojo Gets Two Movie Award Nominations

Nollywood Actress, Iyabo Ojo, has secured two nominations for the Yoruba Music and Films Awards at midst of Theatre Arts & Movie Practitioners Association of Nigeria ban (TAMPAN)

The Actress on Tuesday shared her nomination e-flier through her Instagram page which she captioned “2 categories! Whoever wins, we’re all winners.”

According to the e-flier for the YOMAFA Global Award season 8, her nominations were in the ‘Best Actress 2020/2021’ and ‘World Most Relentless Influential Act 2020/2021’ categories.

The Actress was nominated alongside other nominees for the Best Actress category such as Toyin Abraham, Wunmi Toriola, Jumoke Odetola, Eniola Ajao, Mide Martins, and Bukunmi Oluwashina.

Under the category for the World Most Relentless Influential Act, other nominees include Mercy Aigbe, Bolanle Ninalowo, Liz Anjorin, Toyin Abraham, Dayo Amusa and Nkechi Blessing.

Iyabo Ojo’s nominations came days after TAMPAN Board of Trustees and the Elders of Nigerian Motion Picture Industry sent a stern warning to her and another actress, Nkechi Blessing, over their ‘reckless accusations, abuses and embarrassment’ against the association and the movie industry as a whole.

THE WHISTLER had reported that TAMPAN had placed a ban on Iyabo Ojo and Nkechi Blessing Sunday and warned movie directors and producers to desist from working with them until the association rescinds its decision.
