Finally, NFF Pays Siasia

After several months of tossing, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), has reportedly paid former Nigeria U23 coach, Samson Siasia his five months’ salary.
A source in the NFF, who disclosed this, stated that both Siasia and current Super Eagles’ technical adviser, Gernot Rohr, have been paid their salaries and are no longer being owed.
The former Eagles striker, who had been furious with the officials of the Glass House over his unpaid salaries confirmed to Goal, saying “Yea, I have gotten my salaries, thank you.”

The coach had in September given the NFF a two-week ultimatum, to pay him or threaten to disrupt work activities in the federation’s secretariat.
“I have given them a two-week ultimatum to pay me or I will sit inside the NFF office in Abuja until I get paid,” Siasia told the BBC.
“The national team is preparing for a World Cup qualifier and to be honest my unhealthy distractions are the last thing they need right now.
“I’ve made it clear in my letter that my assistants and I should be paid the backlog owed because it’s inhuman.

Siasia signed a two year contract with the NFF which ended this summer after he led the Under 23 team to win a Bronze medal at Rio 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil.
He is not the first Nigerian coach to complain on the issue of owed salaries, the NFF had in the past reportedly owed previous Nigerian coaches including Sunday Oliseh and late duo of Stephen Keshi and Amodu Shuaibu.
