I Begged Kano Lawmakers Not To Impeach You, Gov. Ganduje Replies Ex-Deputy

The Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje has said that he pleaded with the state House of Assembly against the planned impeachment on his former deputy, Prof. Hafiz Abubakar.

He made the assertion in a four-paragraph reply to Abubakar’s resignation letter.

Abubakar had resigned over “the current and persistent irreconcilable differences on matters relating to governance, government operations, and personal opinions”.

However, Ganduje, in his response said he was surprised at the “assertion that I disrespected the office of the Deputy Governor” adding that he “neither interfered nor annulled any decision” he took while in office.
