Osun Poll: Defend Your Votes, David Mark Charges ADC Supporters

The National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Senator David Mark, has urged the people of Osun State, particularly supporters of the party, to protect their votes and resist any attempt to manipulate the electoral process.

Mark gave the charge on Monday in Osogbo, the state capital while handing over the party’s flag to its governorship candidate, Najeem Salaam, ahead of the state governorship election scheduled for Saturday.

The party chairman’s message was conveyed in a statement signed by his media adviser, Kola Ologbondiyan.

Mark said the party’s supporters must remain vigilant and ensure that their votes count, warning against any attempt to subvert the will of the electorate.

“You must not allow yourselves to be rigged out of this election. You have demonstrated your ability, capacity and determination to win this election.

“You must therefore prepare to defend the votes you cast. Don’t allow your votes to be taken away from you,” Mark said.

He urged ADC members to remain committed, organised and determined as the party intensifies its mobilisation ahead of the poll.

Mark’s call comes as political parties intensify campaigns and mobilisation across Osun State ahead of the governorship election, which is expected to be keenly contested.

Also speaking at the event, the ADC presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, said the party had assembled some of the country’s finest political leaders and professionals to provide an alternative platform for Nigerians.

Atiku said the ADC had the capacity, competence and vision to transform the country and improve the welfare of Nigerians if given the opportunity to govern.

He urged Nigerians to support the party, saying its emergence represented an opportunity to chart a new course for the country.
