PHOTOS: Truck Crashes Into British Airways Plane At US Airport

A British Airways aircraft was grounded at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) after a truck hit one of its engines shortly after the plane arrived from London.

A passenger on the BA 229 flight shared photos of the incident with THE WHISTLER.

The aircraft had arrived safely before the collision at BWI Airport in Maryland on August 7, 2026.

“The flight had arrived safely before the truck rammed into one of the engines,” the passenger told THE WHISTLER.

BA 229 operates from London Heathrow Airport Terminal 5 to Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport.

Flight tracking data reviewed by THE WHISTLER on Flightradar24 showed that the aircraft, a Boeing 777-200ER with registration G-YMMO, arrived at about 7:37 p.m. EDT but recorded no subsequent flight.

The aircraft had been scheduled to return as BA 228 on August 7, but the flight was cancelled.

Photos shared with THE WHISTLER show a service truck pressed against the aircraft’s engine nacelle on the airport apron.

The blue engine casing, bearing the Rolls-Royce logo, was seen in close contact with the front of the white truck marked 10431.
