Rivers Rerun: Governor Wike Cries Out As Security Aides Withdrawn

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, has alleged withdrawal of his security details by the State Commissioner of Police, Francis Odesanya, ahead of the December 10 legislative rerun elections in the state.

Wike made this disclosure, Friday, during the Igbo-Etche Road reconstruction flag off.

While urging the Rivers State youth to protect their votes and mandate during the upcoming elections, the governor stated that withdrawal of his security details was a deliberate attempt by the opposition APC to intimidate him and his people, as well as use the withdrawn security personnel for election misconducts.

“As I speak to you, the Commissioner of Police has withdrawn the security around me. It is God that will protect me. As a governor, the Commissioner of Police has the effrontery to withdraw my security. There is no limit to this kind of intimidation and impunity,” Wike said.
