The Nigerian Army has recovered six kidnapped victims during a routine patrol in Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State.
Captain Abayomi Adisa, the Acting Assistant Director of Army Public Relations of the 17 Brigade Nigerian Army, disclosed this on Tuesday.
According to Adisa, the rescue occurred on June 29, 2026, during a routine foot patrol of the troops, they intercepted victims wandering in the bush after escaping from their abductors.
The victims consist of four women and two male children, identified as Mrs Umaima Isiaku, 30; Amina Isiaku, 16; Safiya Isiaku, 15; Ramatu Suleiman, 30; Muhammad Shehu, 4; and Ibrahim Suleiman, 2.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the victims were abducted by armed bandits from Unguwan Lado in Kankara Local Government Area on June 22, 2026.

The troops provided them first aid, food and immediate necessities before reuniting them with their families.
The Commander of 17 Brigade, Brigadier General Ishaya Ibrahim, reaffirmed the Brigade’s commitment to sustaining aggressive operations against criminal elements and ensured the safety and security of lives and property across its area of responsibility.
