‘Slumdog Millionaire’ Actor Dies At 53

An Internationally acclaimed Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan, has died at the age of 53, due to a Colon Infection.

He worked with India’s popular film industry, based in Mumbai, and also played vital roles in “Life Of Pi” and “Slumdog Millionaire.”

Khan’s PR agency, Hardly Anonymous Communications, announced his death on Wednesday in a statement.

“Irrfan was a strong soul, someone who fought till the very end and always inspired everyone who came close to him.

“It’s saddening that this day, we have to bring forward the news of him passing away,” the statement read.

CNN reports that in March 2018 he had been diagnosed with a rare neuroendocrine tumor — abnormal growth that begin in the body’s specialized neuroendocrine cells, according to the Mayo Clinic.

The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi also tweeted that his death was a great loss to the movie industry and millions of viewers across continents.

“Irrfan Khan’s demise is a loss to the world of cinema and theatre. He will be remembered for his versatile performances across different mediums.

“My thoughts are with his family, friends and admirers. May his soul rest in peace,” he tweeted.
