Tecno Camon 18 Premier Vs Camon 17 Pro: 5 Major Differences

Popular smartphone manufacturer, Tecno has released the latest addition to its smartphone family known as the Camon 18 Premier.

The mobile phone company officially unveiled its latest midrange camera-centric device in Lagos on Wednesday.

Reportedly the most feature rich phone in its line-up to date, the phone has been received with much anticipation.

Here are some major differences between the Camon 18 Premier and its predecessor, the Camon 17 Pro:

1. Dimensions

 The Tecno Camon Premier 18 measures precisely 163.8 x 75.9 x 8.2 mm in dimension, while the Camon 17 Pro is 168.9 x 77 x 9 mm.

Obviously, the Camon Premier 18 is considerably smaller than its predecessor, so if you are a lover of large phones, you might prefer the Camon 17 Pro.

2. Display

The Camon 18 Premier features an AMOLED screen, with 120Hz and 550 nits (brightness), while the 17 Pro has an IPS LCD screen, with 90Hz and 500 nits.

The Camon 18 Premier also comes with 6.7 inches and 108.4cm screen, with an approximate 87.2% screen to body ratio. Whereas the Camon 17 Pro’s screen is 6.8 inches, 109.8cm and has approximately 84.4% screen to body ratio.

Resolution: The new Camon 18 Premier has 1080 x 2400 pixels while the Camon 17 Pro comes with a 1080 x 2460 pixels.

3. Operating System (OS)

The Camon 18 Premier features an Android 11 and comes with HIOS 8.0, while the Camon 17 Pro comes with Android 11 and HIOS 7.6. This was expected of course, as newer phones in a product lineup almost always feature a better and more effective OS.

4. Camera

Main Camera: The Camon 18 Premier comes with a 64 MP camera, with an aperture ratio of f/1.6 and 26mm.

It has two other 12MP and 8MP cameras at the back.

The Camon 17 Pro also comes with a 64MP main camera, but with an aperture ratio of f/1.8, 26mm.

It features three other cameras with 8, 2 and 2 megapixels, respectively.

Selfie Camera: The Camon 18 Premier’s selfie camera features 32MP, while the Camon 17 Pro boasts 48MP.

Both devices come with Dual-LED flash, but the Camon 18 Premier features high-dynamic-range imaging (HDR) that enables it to reproduce greater range of light than its predecessor.

5. Battery

The Camon 18 Premier comes with a Li-Po 4750 mAh battery, while the Camon 17 Pro has a Li-Po 5000 mAh battery.

While both batteries are non-removable, their specifications show that the Camon 17 Pro may last longer than the Camon 18 Premier.

Also, the Camon 18 Premier promises fast charging (33W) that enables it to charge up to 64% in 30 minutes.

The Camon 17 Pro, however, features a fast charging of 25W between 33W.
