The Tuesday incident also left nine others with varying degrees of injuries during the attack.
Speaking to journalists on Wednesday, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ramhan Nansel, said two corpses were recovered on the day of the attack. At the same time, the third person died in the hospital where he was rushed for treatment.
Nansel explained that following a distress call over the attack, the Commissioner of Police, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, immediately deployed a detachment of Mobile Police personnel and other tactical teams to the area to bring the situation under control.
“During the response operation, two corpses were recovered, while nine injured persons were rescued and rushed to nearby hospitals, where they are currently receiving medical attention, but one later died in the early hours of today,” he stated.
Nansel said the commissioner also directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) and the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of operations to proceed to the area and conduct a comprehensive investigation to unravel the perpetrators of the attack, with a view to ensuring their immediate arrest and prosecution.
