The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested two suspects linked to a kidnapping threat against a resident of Song Local Government Area.
The arrest followed a complaint by Hassan Musa Dabutu, who reported receiving phone calls from an unknown caller demanding money and threatening his abduction if payment was not made.
Dabutu disclosed that his family had previously fallen victim to multiple kidnappings, during which they paid a total ransom of N20m to secure the release of abducted relatives.
Acting on the complaint, Commissioner of Police Dankombo Morris ordered operatives from the State Intelligence Department to launch an investigation into the threat.
According to the command’s spokesman, SP Suleiman Nguroje, the operatives arrested two suspects, a 15-year-old boy, Abdulraman Musa of Nguru, and a 60-year-old man, Adamu Orte from Machina, Yobe State.
Nguroje stated, “This is following a complaint received from one Hassan Musa Dabutu of Song LGA, who reported receiving threatening calls from an unknown subscriber, that they are coming to kidnap him unless he pays a certain amount of money.

“The complainant also raised concern that his family had earlier suffered a series of kidnappings, where a total sum of N20m was paid as ransom to secure the release of abducted family members.”
The police said investigations are still ongoing and that the suspects would be prosecuted upon conclusion of the inquiry.
The Commissioner of Police reaffirmed the command’s commitment to protecting residents and ensuring public safety across the state.
