Blessing CEO’s N36m Fraud Trial Stalled Over Illness
The trial of social media influencer and relationship therapist Okoro Blessing Nkiruka, popularly known as Blessing CEO, was adjourned on Wednesday after she failed to appear before the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, due to illness.
Blessing CEO is being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over allegations of obtaining N36m by false pretence and theft.
When the case was called, her lawyer, P.I. Nwafuru, told Justice D.I. Dipeolu that officials of the Nigerian Correctional Service informed him that his client was unwell and could not attend court.
He asked for a new date and assured the court that her medical report would be made available at the next sitting.
Following the application, Justice Dipeolu adjourned the case until July 20, 2026, for the continuation of trial.
The EFCC alleged that Blessing CEO fraudulently obtained N36m from Mrs. Ifeyinwa Nonye Okoye in July 2024 after claiming she could secure the lease of a six-bedroom duplex in Lekki, Lagos.

According to the anti-graft agency, the property offer was false, an allegation that forms the basis of the charges before the court.
Blessing CEO has denied the allegations, and the trial is expected to continue on the adjourned date.
