Out of this figure, 209, 991, which represents 19 per cent of total infection, have been reported dead.

Health officials have often said that Covid-19 patients recover on their own, as there is no known drug for Covid-19.

In Nigeria, the Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire, also highlighted reason for optimism, saying a large percentage of covid-19 cases would recover.

“There is no reason for apprehension because over 90 per cent of those who have COVID-19 will recover.

“Nine out 10 will recover, so what is the fear about. Only that the numbers are so large that we forget that people recover and few get very sick, that is just about four or five out of 100,” Ehanire had said.

The World Health Organization(WHO) on Monday, also noted declining numbers of covid-19 cases in Europe, among others.

But it called for caution and compliance with all its laid out guidelines to ward off the pandemic.
