Enugu Reps Describe Mbah’s ₦1.62tn Budget As ‘Bold, Strategic’

The caucus of the House of Representatives from Enugu State has commended Governor Peter Mbah’s proposed ₦1.62tn budget for the 2026 fiscal year.

The caucus said the proposed budget was “bold, strategic, and anchored on a clear vision for accelerated economic development”.

The position of the lawmakers was contained in a statement issued by their leader, Mr Nnolim Nnaji. The lawmakers expressed satisfaction with the consistent increase in Enugu State’s annual budgets since Governor Mbah assumed office.

They said the trend reflected a deliberate and well-structured roadmap for economic transformation.

The lawmakers said the upward review had demonstrated that Governor Mbah’s plan to grow the state’s economy from $4.4 billion to $30 billion annually was already yielding visible results.

They commended the emphasis the governor placed on economic expansion, infrastructure development, education, healthcare, and social welfare, describing it as “critical to sustainable development and better quality of life for citizens”.
