Gov Uzodinma Visits NSCDC Headquarters, Demands Agro-Rangers Squad In Imo

The Imo State governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma, yesterday donated a piece of land for the construction of a zonal headquarters of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in the state.

Uzodinma stated this when he paid a courtesy visit to the commandant general of the NSCDC, Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu, in Abuja.

The governor said the visit was to commend the commandant general for his achievements in security, as well as request the establishment of the Agro-Rangers Squad in the state to support his administration’s efforts in providing physical security for the civil populace and farmers.

He also expressed willingness to donate a parcel of land to the corps to build its zonal headquarters and staff quarters, and commended the corps for arresting illegal miners, vandals, and criminals in the state.

The CG, Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu, said the corps, aside protecting critical national assets, regulating and licensing of private guard companies in Nigeria and being the lead agency in disaster management, rescue and mitigation, also ‘protects agro-allied investments of investors to encourage efforts being made to diversify the nation’s economy from the oil and gas sector to the agricultural sector through its Agro-Rangers Squad’.
