Wakili, who disclosed that Ningi was kidnapped at about 8 pm on Thursday, said the assailants trailed the victim after leaving his residence around Isa Yuguda Guest House, in a gold colour car.

The PPRO said the kidnappers armed with guns, waylaid the lawmaker and whisked him away in their car.

“As of this morning (Friday) that I am talking to you, they have not called yet, but our intelligence men are working to get to the root of the situation,” Wakili told Tribune.

He urged the public to be security conscious, and take note of vehicles and motorcycles that may be trailing them while driving.
