Lagos APC Hosts Ajose, Urges Aspirants To Embrace Unity

Members of the State Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State have met with a governorship aspirant in the just-concluded party primaries, Dr Samuel Ajose, and his supporters.

The state Chairman of the party, Cornelius Ojelabi, disclosed this in a statement posted on X on Saturday.

Ojelabi urged other aspirants to emulate Ajose’s conduct, describing his commitment to the party as commendable.

Although the APC chairman did not disclose the purpose of the meeting, it may be connected to efforts to ease tensions arising from the party’s primaries.

“Members of the State Executive Committee of our party hosted the gubernatorial aspirant in the just-concluded primaries, Dr. Samuel Ajose, along with his followers,” Ojelabi said.

“His unwavering commitment to the party is highly commendable.

“I urge other aspirants to emulate this noble step so that our party can remain united and victorious.”

Ajose had withdrawn from the Lagos State governorship race and endorsed Dr Obafemi Hamzat, the current Deputy Governor of Lagos State in May, just days before the party’s primaries.

Addressing supporters at the time, he described the decision as one taken in the interest of party unity and collective progress.

According to him, the move followed careful reflection on what would best serve the interests of both the people and the party.

Ajose also pledged to work for Hamzat’s emergence by joining his campaign structure.
