Nwodo Appointed Coordinator, Southern, Middle-Belt Leaders’ Forum

The outgoing president general of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Chief John Nnia Nwodo, has been appointed the coordinator of the Southern and Middle-Belt Leaders’ Forum (SMBLF).

According to a statement issued by the chairman of the forum, Chief Edwin Clarke, which was made available to THE WHISTLER in Owerri, Imo State, on Wednesday, Chief Nwodo’s appointment was in recognition of his exemplary leadership when he held sway as the president general of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide for four years, which is about to elapse.

Chief Clark said Chief Nwodo ‘gave the Igbo unqualified and purposeful leadership which resonated throughout the country’, and expressed optimism that he would do the same for the Southern and Middle Belt Leaders’ Forum, especially at this troubled time in the nation.

The Ijaw chief further urged Chief Nwodo to bring his leadership abilities to bear as he steers the ship of the forum. According to the statement, Chief Nwodo’s appointment takes effect from the 10th of January, 2021, the same day his tenure as Ohanaeze Ndigbo president general ends.

Our correspondent reports that the Southern and Middle-Belt Leaders’ Forum is composed of Afenifere, PANDEF, Ohanaeze Ndigbo and Middle Belt Forum.
