Peter Obi Visits Umo Eno To Commiserate Over Wife’s Death

The Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 elections, Mr Peter Obi has visited the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, to commiserate with him and the state over the death of the late First Lady of the state, Mrs Patience Umo Eno.

Mr. Obi, a former Governor of Anambra State and an in-law in Akwa Ibom State, registered his condolences when he visited the Governor at the Hilltop Mansion, Government House.

During the visit, Obi said, “Your Excellency, I have to most sincerely start by thanking you for the opportunity. I heard you have a budget presentation and still accorded us this audience today.

“My reason for coming is to most sincerely and personally convey my condolences on the passing of your wife.

“I am here to commiserate you, and the good people of Akwa Ibom. Everybody knows how painful it is to lose a loved one.

“All I can say is may God Almighty who is pleased to call her home by this time grant her eternal rest and grant you and members of the family and indeed all of us the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss.”

Responding, Governor Umo Eno appreciated him for the sacrifice of coming to identify with him and the State saying, “Your Excellency, our in-law, you are a full-fledged Akwa Ibom man and Akwa Ibom is not new to you.

“All of us know you are a voice for the downtrodden in this country. We follow you with admiration.

“I want to thank you for finding time out of your crowded schedule to come and see us.

“That shows the love you have for us and the respect you have for your wife.

“We thank you for the kind words and prayers. Ordinarily, it is a deep pain. Like I have been telling people, I suffered an emotional stroke when it happened.

“We thank God for the grace He has given you. Please convey our heartfelt gratitude to your wife, our daughter.

“On behalf of all of us, my family, the State and the people, thank you so much,” the governor added.
