The Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) has reiterated its commitment to ensuring the welfare of retirees under Nigeria’s Defined Benefits Scheme, as it continues efforts to strengthen the country’s pension framework.
Speaking at a one-day workshop organized for pension correspondents and editors on Thursday, Executive Secretary of PTAD, Tolulope Odunaiya, highlighted the Directorate’s achievements, operational mandate, and future plans aimed at improving pension management.
The training, which brought together key media stakeholders, was designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of PTAD’s operations, the Act establishing the Directorate, and the mechanisms in place to ensure timely and accurate pension payments.
Odunaiya emphasized the importance of accurate information dissemination in supporting the Directorate’s mission and maintaining public confidence in the pension system.
“Pension management in Nigeria is a highly sensitive issue, and PTAD has been at the forefront since inception, ensuring that retirees under the Defined Benefits Scheme receive the support they deserve,” Odunaiya stated.
