Supreme Court: Fubara Relieves Cabinet Members

Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has formally relieved all commissioners and public officers affected by a recent Supreme Court judgment of their appointments, effective immediately.

The decision was announced in a statement issued on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, by Nelson Chukwudi, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor.

According to the statement, the relief of the commissioners and public officers followed the Supreme Court judgment, and the governor appreciated their contributions to the state’s growth and development over the past two years.

The development was announced during a valedictory session held with members of his cabinet at Government House in Port Harcourt, as part of activities marking Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary.

During the session at Government House in Port Harcourt, the Governor expressed his gratitude to members of his cabinet for their service and contributions to the state’s development over the past two years.

Governor Fubara called on all Nigerians to work together with the President to build a peaceful, secure, and prosperous country.

He emphasized the importance of unity and collective effort in achieving a brighter future for all Nigerians.

The Governor reiterated his commitment to serving Rivers State with renewed vigor and thanked citizens for their support.
