Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has formally relieved all commissioners and public officers affected by a recent Supreme Court judgment of their appointments, effective immediately.
The decision was announced in a statement issued on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, by Nelson Chukwudi, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor.
According to the statement, the relief of the commissioners and public officers followed the Supreme Court judgment, and the governor appreciated their contributions to the state’s growth and development over the past two years.
The development was announced during a valedictory session held with members of his cabinet at Government House in Port Harcourt, as part of activities marking Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary.
