After 449 Days In Boko Haram Captivity, Nigerians Remember Leah Sharibu On 16th Birthday

Nigerians on social media have today remembered Leah Sharibu, the only Dapchi school girl still in Boko Haram captivity as she clocks 16 years of age.

The thousands of birthday messages on social media may however not get to Sharibu who has been made to celebrate yet another birthday in the hands of the insurgents who kidnapped her 449 days ago.

Recall that on the 19th of February 2018, 110 school girls from the Government Girls Science and Technical College, Dapchi, Yobe State where abducted by Boko Haram.

The girls were later released after one month of captivity, but 15-year-old Sharibu was left behind for refusing to renounce her Christian faith.

However, Nigerians took to social media Today to send birthday wishes to her and also criticise the Federal Government for failing to keep to the promise of her release up till now.
