Alleged Fraud: Ibori’s Ally Remanded In Ikoyi Prison

Delta North Senator, Pete Nwaoboshi, a loyalist of former Delta State governor, James Ibori, has been remanded In Ikoyi Prison.

Nwaoboshi`s remand was ordered by a Lagos State Federal High Court over an alleged N322 million contract fraud.

The WHISTLER recalls that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had earlier arraigned the federal lawmaker over offences bordering on conspiracy and money laundering.

Nwaoboshi, according to the anti-graft agency, had alongside a firm, Golden Touch Construction Project Limited, purchased a property in Lagos for N805m between May and June 2014 using stolen funds.

The EFCC had also charged the Senator with perpetrating several contract frauds to the tune of N6bn using 15 companies whose directors are his relatives and associates.

The companies were given as: Benchmark Construction and Projects Limited; Milestone Allied Builders Limited; Edendoma Stars Intl; Isumabe U.K Global Ventures; Nelpat (Nigeria) Company; Edrihide Company; Antlers Construction and Allied Works Limited; and AGH-Rown Ventures.

Others are NOAN Integrated Services Limited; De-Towers Construction and Allied Services; Eastern Wrought Iron Limited; Franstine Nigeria Enterprises; Brant Technologies; Omozuabho Global Resources and Bugstruct Limited.
