Author Gives Youths ‘Food For Thought’ In New Book

An author and educationist has advised young Nigerians to be mindful of their lifestyle as this would impact their lives and either lead them to stardom or sorrow.

Author of “UNPREDICTABLE; Paybacks are Sneaky, ” Olivia Christopher, says the book demonstrates how people are consumed or comforted during their lifetime and after they are dead, depending on what type of life they lived.

One of the main characters in the fiction, a man named Rufus, had died inside a car after commiting immorality with a lady ( Matilda).

His ghost being full of regrets wanted to come back to life, saying “I need to find a way to get into my body.”

The book is a fictional narrative that proves actions have great consrquences.

The book reviewer, Mr. Afolabi, stressed that the pages touch one’s conscience and people’s understanding about God and life.

He added that the ghost of Rufus wanted to make things right, even though he had transported to the spirit world.

Speaking with our correspondent, the author, Miss Olivia, said that she needed to put what she had observed into writing so as to help the readers in taking quality decisions for their lives knowing fully that there are consequences for actions.

“I was having a discussion with a friend about certain lifestyles and then jokingly I decided to write a short story from that.

“Young people should maintain healthy lifestyle because the time we have is not ours and they should also have their priorities right because if they dont, they will spend their time frivolously.

“They have a lot of distractions like strings, internet is there , movies..but these things can be channelled properly,” she said.

She added that for the positive growth and development of young people, parents and guardians must play crucial role.

“Parents should guide them, teach them to keep good company, they should also program their time well so they could make good use of it.

“They shouldn’t spend too much time doing things that won’t help them.

“It’s good to relax or be entertained but don’t spend like half of the day on entertainment,” she said.

The novel was launched on Saturday at the Family Worship Centre in Kubwa.
