Coronavirus: Immigration Suspends Passport, Migrant E-Registration Services
The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has announced the suspension of passport processing and immigrant e-registration due to the current realities of COVID-19 in the country.
NIS announced this on Tuesday on its official twitter account @nigimmigration, where it said the service would commence operation by April 23, 2020.
“Temporary suspension of processing of passport and migrant e-registration by the Nigerian Immigration Service,” the statement read.
The move was part of the body’s effort to curb the spread of the COVID-19 which had already affected 42 persons in the country.
