COVID-19: Samsung, MTN Supports FG With 500 Phones

Samsung Mobile in partnership with MTN Nigeria Communications Plc have presented 500 smartphones to support the Federal Government’s fight to prevent the spread of COVID- 19.

The phones were presented to the Minister of Health,  Osagie Ehanire, on Tuesday.

The brand presented by the world largest smartphone maker were Samsung Galaxy A2 Core devices.

The South Korean company said, “Samsung Nigeria in partnership with MTN donated 500 Galaxy A2 Core devices with 2GB data for six months months to the ministry of health in Abuja to curb the COVID-19 infection rate in Nigeria.”

The Company said in a statement that the devices would Support Contact Tracing efforts of health authorities.

The Managing Director, Caden Yu , Samsung Nigeria during the presentation said, “Our thoughts are with every Nigerian and this donation is a way of using our resources to fight this pandemic.”

Yu added that through the collaborative effort from various stakeholders, the country would overcome the negative impact of the pandemic.
