Enugu Records 30 New Covid-19 Cases In 48 Hours, Total 372

The Enugu State Ministry of Health, Sunday, confirmed thirty new cases of the coronavirus pandemic, taking the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 372.

According to the state commissioner for health, Dr Obi Emmanuel Ikechukwu, the number of Covid-19 cases on treatment is 182; and those already discharged stand at 181. He added that the number of confirmed Covid-19 related deaths in the state is nine.

The health commissioner, while reitrating that the pandemic is real, urged people of the state to stay at home when it is not absolutely necessary to go out, adding that they should “wear facemasks/covering whenever you must go out; keep a safe distance from other people at all times, which is social/physical distancing and avoid crowded places; practise good respiratory hygiene (when coughing or sneezing), clean surfaces around you regularly with a solution of bleach and water (1ml of bleach into 99 ml of water, mixed); wash your hands with soap for twenty seconds under running water as often as possible, and when facilities for handwashing are unavailable, sanitize your hands as often as possible using an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.”
