Ex-Enugu Assembly Leader Resigns From PDP
A former leader of the Enugu State House of Assembly, Dr Ikechukwu Meletus Ezeugwu, has formally resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Dr Ezeugwu represented Udenu State Constituency in the state Assembly. His resignation was contained in a letter he addressed to the Igugu ward chairman of the PDP.
He expressed dissatisfaction with the internal operations of the party, citing events leading to the 2023 general elections as the cause of his leaving the party. He regretted that merit was frequently sacrificed on the altar of mediocrity and deceit.
According to him, “I thank God for giving me the wisdom to reject a gift of a Trojan Horse then. I was slated to have been economically grounded and politically ridiculed, but they forgot that my name is Ikechukwu (God’s power).
“For me, trust is a fundamental aspect of any relationship, and without it, relationships can become challenging to maintain.”
THE WHISTLER reports that Hon. Ezeugwu Ikechukwu served as a member of the Enugu State House of Assembly from 2011 to 2023 and was the Assembly leader from 2015 to 2023.
