Israeli PM Formally Indicted For Corruption, To Face Trial

Mandelblit filed the indictment against the Prime Minister at a district court after Netanyahu dropped his request for parliamentary immunity same day.

The indictment paves way for him to be tried on issues bordering on bribery, fraud and breach of trust.

But Netanyahu had said that the indictment was a distraction to his vision for the nation and a witch hunt.

“A few minutes ago I notified the chairman of the knesset that I am attracting the immunity request. In Continuation, we will reduce all the claims of the bogus and the idle veterans submitted in my affairs.

“But now, I won’t let political scandals use this matter to interfere with the historic move I lead.

“As I have done all my life, I will continue to invest all of me for the future of our country and our citizens, citizens Israel,” he said in a Facebook post on Tuesday.
