New Children’s Channel ‘Pineapple TV’ Hits Airwaves Saturday

A new children television Channel, Pineapple TV, is set to hit the airwaves this weekend, Saturday, June 30, 2019.

The TV Channel is targeted at informing, educating and entertaining children aged four to 16 using local stories and characters.

According to reports, Veteran Nigerian Actor, Kalu Ikeagwu, will be prominent in a show titled The Story Book, while Tinsel actress, Ashionye Raccha, will host a cooking show called Cool Kids Cook.

Ashionye said of the initiative, “It is vital that the African child is exposed to safe and quality programs which educate and entertain, the result will manifest into a more informed, educated, aware, open minded and confident adult”.

Carl Raccah, Managing Director, Pineapple Productions and Media Limited, said the channel has a lot in store for African children and those in the Diaspora.

“Pineapple Productions and Media Limited will see the rise of carefully created African TV channel that will entertain Children on the African continent and in diaspora. Pineapple TV will be a vital avenue to educate the African Child using examples, characters and stories that they can relate to”, he said.

Carl described the mission of the Company as, “an empowerment tool for educating children whilst promoting African culture, religious tolerance, gender equality and geographical acceptance.”

Also speaking, the Marketing Director, Yetunde Falade said the channel would air on star times and provide opportunities for professionals in the creative sector to thrive.
