The King Jaja Executive Authority has issued a statement denying rumors of the death of His Majesty, King Dandeson Douglas Jaja, Jeki JP, the Amanyanabo of Opobo Kingdom.
The statement was released on Thursday, June 19, 2025, from the King Jaja Palace in Opobo Town, Rivers State.
“We feel compelled to address the unfortunate, unfounded, and wicked rumors circulating on social media regarding the alleged death of our Monarch, the Amanyanabo of Opobo Kingdom, His Majesty, King [Dr] Dandeson Douglas Jaja, Jeki V, CFR, DSSRS, JP,” the statement read.
“It is disheartening to see such misinformation spread without any basis in reality.”
The King Jaja Executive Authority, represented by Jekiopusenibo Godswill F. Pepple, Secretary, emphasized that there is no truth in the reports and rumors and urged all well-meaning people across the world to disregard them.
“As the authority who should of course know, we clearly and unequivocally state that there is no truth in these reports and rumors and should therefore, be disregarded by all well-meaning people across the world,” the statement said.

The authority attributed the spread of false information to unscrupulous elements who are only expressing their devilish wishes.
“It is essential to verify claims before sharing them,” the statement advised. “Spreading false information can have significant emotional impacts on individuals and their families. It can lead to unnecessary panic, distress, and confusion.”
The King Jaja Executive Authority called on all persons in and outside Opobo Kingdom to immediately stop the spread of these malicious reports and rumors.
“We call for respect for our Monarch and emphasize that this senseless and demonic act is the handiwork of unscrupulous elements who are only expressing their devilish wishes,” the statement said.
“Let us exercise caution before jumping to conclusions. We must be vigilant in ensuring that the information we share is accurate and respectful.”

The statement concluded with a message of support for the monarch, saying “Long live our King.”
