Peter Obi Declares Tunde Ednut ‘Unifying Figure’ Of Nigeria’s Creative Industry

The 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has congratulated popular social media influencer, Tunde Ednut, on his 38th birthday, applauding him for his positive impact on Nigerians across ethnic and religious lines.

In a tweet on Sunday, Obi described Ednut as a “remarkable Nigerian entertainment blogger and global internet influencer” whose influence has helped propel many emerging creative talents in Nigeria into the limelight.

“Your impact, contributions, and popularity are widely recognized and cherished by Nigerians worldwide, transcending ethnic, religious, and geographical boundaries,” Obi wrote.

Ednut, whose real name is Tunde Olaoluwa Adekunle, is one of Nigeria’s top social media influencers who openly endorsed Obi ahead of the 2023 presidential election and has continued to support him despite losing to Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the February 25 poll.

“In this current dispensation, Peter Obi is who Nigeria needs,” Ednut stated in June 2022.

In his birthday message, Obi noted that Ednut’s work has significantly expanded Nigeria’s creative output which serves as “a crucial source of foreign exchange” for the country.

The former Anambra State governor added that the realization of a new Nigeria will depend significantly on the energy and creativity of Nigerian youth as exemplified by “unifying figures” like Ednut.

“I firmly believe that the future of Nigeria hinges significantly on the energy and creativity of its youth, which are boundless. With positive impacts and contributions from creative and unifying figures like ‘Tunde Ednut’, the realization of a new Nigeria is not only conceivable but also within our grasp,” Obi wrote.
