Plateau Attack: Police Launch Massive Manhunt For Killers

In the wake of the Angwan Rukuba killings, Olatunji Rilwan Disu the Inspector General of police has directed an extensive deployment of security personnel to Jos North to restore calm and bring the perpetrators to justice.

The attack, which claimed the lives of several residents, has drawn strong condemnation from the police chief, who described the incident as tragic and unacceptable.

He extended his condolences to the government and people of Plateau State, particularly families affected by the violence.

In response, the IGP had earlier deployed the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of Operations, Umar Shehu Nadada, to assess the situation on the ground and coordinate security efforts aimed at restoring order.

The police have since reinforced operations in the state with additional tactical teams, including units of the Police Mobile Force and intelligence operatives, working alongside other security agencies. The intensified efforts are aimed at apprehending those responsible for the attack and preventing further breakdown of law and order.

The IGP assured residents that security operations would continue until peace and normalcy are fully restored. He also directed all field commanders to ensure increased visibility of police presence and stronger engagement with vulnerable communities.

Residents have been urged to remain calm, cooperate with security agencies, and provide timely information on suspicious activities.

The police also cautioned against taking the law into their own hands as efforts to stabilise the area continue.
