The Katsina State Police Command has confirmed that terrorists have killed Sanusi Gyaza, an aide to the state governor, Dikko Radda.
The Public Relations Officer of the command, Abubakar Sadiq, made the confirmation on Sunday.
He told newsmen that, “Yes, we are aware and we are on top of the situation.”
THE WHISTLER reports that terrorists killed Gyaza at his residence in the Gyaza community of Kankia Local Government Area of the state on Friday.
The incident, which reportedly occurred late on Friday, also led to the death of the wife of the deceased.
Gyaza was the former Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Teachers, Kankia LG chapter in the state.

Assailants had reportedly stormed his residence in what has been a frequent occurrence in the state.
Unspecified number of residents were abducted during the raid including his second wife.
Katsina has witnessed increased ctivities of hoodlums, including kidnappings and killings with over 14 local governments reportedly under the control of bandits and terrorists.
Farmlands have been abandoned in most areas as terrorists and bandits frequently target farmers for abduction.
Also, most markets have been targeted where goods are looted and some business men and women are abducted.

The attack on Gyaza’s residence and the manner of the killings and abduction especially as he’s a known and high profile resident has left many in shock.
Political authorities have however not spoken about the latest development.
