Police Officers Refund N206,000 Extorted From Delta Resident

Operatives of the Delta Police Command have refunded the sum of N206,000 allegedly taken from a victim whom they manhandled and extorted on Friday.

THE WHISTLER reported how the operatives allegedly arrested and subsequently assaulted the victim and his brother behind a Divisional Station in the state, for an undisclosed reason.

A human activist, Harrison Gwamnishu took to his X Account handle to draw the attention of the Delta Police Command to the incident that occurred at about 11am on Friday.

The spokesperson of the command, Bright Edafe promised to probe the matter, and in less than 24 hours, Gwamnishu disclosed that the extorted sum had been refunded.

“I reported this case a few hours ago and just this evening at 5:33 pm, the N206,000 has been transferred into the victim’s account.

“The police authorities are aware of this case and they know the officers involved as the command @Brightgoldenboy (Spokesperson, Bright Edafe) played a role in the recovery,” his post read.

Gwamnishu’s update on the matter was also accompanied with a receipt of the credit alert.
