Submit Yourself To ICPC For Investigation, Buhari Directs Suspended SPIP Chair, Obono-Obla

The Presidency has finally announced the suspension of the Chairman, Special Presidential Investigation Panel on the Recovery of Public Property, Mr. Okoi Obono-Obla. 

In a short statement on its verified twitter page (@NGRPresident) , the Presidency said President Muhammadu Buhari approved Obono-Obla’s suspension on Wednesday with immediate effect.

The suspension of the senior presidential aide came more than a year after an ad hoc committee of the House of Representatives found him to be in possession of an “invalid” Ordinary Level result. 

The panel had in its report said its findings show that Obono-Obla may have forged his way into the University of Jos where he obtained a Law degree before proceeding to the Nigerian Law School. 

Announcing his suspension, the Presidency tweeted: “President @MBuhari has directed the suspension from office, with immediate effect, of the Chairman of the Special Investigation Panel for the Recovery of Public Property, Mr Okoi Obono-Obla.

“The suspension shall be in effect until the conclusion of ongoing @ICPC_PE investigations into a number of cases relating to Mr. Obono-Obla.”
