Presidency To Name 200 Corrupt Persons

The Presidency has announced that in a short time from now, it will publish a list of 200 individuals who illicitly acquired properties across the country.

This was announced by the Special Assistant to the President on Prosecution, Okoi Obono Obla who doubles as the chairman of the Special Investigation Panel on the Recovery of Public Property, on Thursday.

He made the announcement at the inauguration of a new software application for tracking illicit properties in the country, developed by a civil society organization, African Network for Environment and Economic Justice (ANEEJ) in Abuja.

Obla revealed that the list of properties located in areas such as Maitama in Abuja, are linked to serving and past public office holders.

“Let them tell us where they got the money to build these massive properties. If they cannot explain, let them quietly return it to Nigerians,” he said.

The report, published by Daily Trust, however, did not state whether the individuals will be made to face trial or not, or the level of investigations conducted to determine the Corrupt nature of the said properties.
