Reno Omokri Locks Horns With Aisha Yesufu Over Ezekwesili

Former  Aide on New Media to erstwhile President of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, has locked horns with Aisha Yesufu, over a claim that Jonathan  offered Oby Ezekwesili a ministerial  appointment which she declined.

In 2013, Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El- Rufai, claimed that Jonathan had offered Ezekwesili  a ministerial appointment which she turned down.

“Before Segun Aganga was offered Minister of Finance, it was Oby that was offered. President Jonathan offered her the job and I am putting it out in the public for them to deny it. It was Oby that suggested Segun Aganga and another young man in  the African Development Bank.

“They still followed Oby to South Africa to offer her the minister of power. Does that sound like yesterday’s men?

“We chose not to be in this government. I can speak for myself and Oby,” El-Rufai said in 2013. 

Yesufu, a human right activist reiterated the claim on twitter on  Friday, saying, “In 2013, President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan was President and Reno Omokri was in government defending the incompetence and atrocities of that administration.So let Reno Omokri show me what they said to Nasir El Rufai  then.”

Omokri however demanded  evidence of the claim, saying that Jonathan had denied the claim.

According to him, “If either Oby Ezeks or Aisha Yesufu has proof of a ministerial offer made to Oby by ex President GEJonathan, I encourage them to publish it. Oby is a known liar. Her own running mate revealed that she only contested in 2019 in order to negotiate to be Buhari’s finance minister!

“The duo of Aisha Yesufu and ObyEzeks can’t call others to give account, while themselves refuse to give account. They both claimed Jonathan offered Oby a ministerial offer. This is a lie. I call upon them to publish proof. Oby? The same Oby that was desperate for post?

“Dear Aisha Yesufu and Oby Ezeks, tweeting a claim made by Nasir El-rufai, isn’ proof. If it is proof, then are we to accept the claim made by El-Rufai’s son that Oby is a beggar and they have “receipts” as proof? You are above this. Please publish real proof! Your claim is false.

“It is a simple matter. Yesufu and Ezekwesili made a very false claim that Jonathan offered Oby ministerial appointment. I didn’t make the claim. They did. I called ex President Jonathan and the claim is a lie. Rather than talk out of point, let the duo just publish proof!” Omokri added.

In response to the ex-presidential aide, Yusufu said, “We deal with Presidents, not aides of President who have stomach infrastructure to uphold. Let former President Jonathan come out to say this is not true and a response will be given to him. Say hi to him when you eventually call!”
