The overturned tanker was said to have caused traffic snarl on the road but traffic law enforcement agents were said to have started controlling the scene to ease the problem.

The Director-General of the Lagos State Emergency Agency, Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, confirmed the accident in a tweet on the Twitter handle of the agency on Wednesday.

The tweet read, “The agency has responded to an incident involving a tanker loaded with 33,000 litres of diesel which overturned due to driver negligence. The driver and motor boy sustained injuries and they have been taken to hospital.

“A combined team of agency firefighters, the fire service and all responders are at the scene. Transloading of product is about to commence.”
