U.S. State Bans Singing In Places of Worship

The government of California, in the United States of America, has banned “singing and chanting activities” in places of worship, as part of measures geared towards reducing covid-19 spread.

This was contained in the state’s updated Covid-19 Industry Guidelines (Places of Worship and Providers of Religious Services and Cultural Ceremonies), obtained by THE WHISTLER.

“In particular, activities such as singing and chanting negate the risk-reduction achieved through six feet of physical distancing.

“Places of worship must therefore discontinue singing and chanting activities and limit indoor attendance to 25% of building capacity or a maximum of 100 attendees, which is lower,” it outlined.

The government, as published on its website, on July 3rd, said it reviewed the guidelines so as ” to create a safer, low-risk environment.”

It also added that the use of facemask was compulsory while places of worship must be disinfected.
