US, UAE, Israel Reach ‘Agreement’ Over Annexation Of Palestine

The Governments of the United States, United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Israel, say they have agreed that the annexation of Palestinian territories will be halted.

The agreement was reached in a phone conversation between the leaders of the three countries.

Recall that Israel and Palestine have had age-long scores to settle, particularly with regards to lands.

Crown Prince of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, confirmed this in a tweet on Thursday.

Furthermore, he said that the bilateral relations between UAE and Israel would now be boosted for the greater good of the Middle East.

“During a call with President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu, an agreement was reached to stop further Israeli annexation of Palestinian territories.

” The UAE and Israel also agreed to cooperation and setting a roadmap towards establishing a bilateral relationship”, he stated.

On his part, President Donald Trump lauded the agreement, calling it a peace deal.

“HUGE breakthrough today!

“Historic Peace Agreement between our two GREAT friends, Israel and the United Arab Emirates!”, Trump tweeted.

Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, also called it a “historic day.”

The joint statement floated on Trump’s tweet partly reads:

“As a result of the diplomatic breakthrough and at the request of President Trump with the support of the United Arab Emirates, Israel will suspend declaring sovereignty over areas outlined in the President’s Vision for Peace and focus its efforts now on expanding ties with other countries in the Arab and Muslim world.”

The Palestine Government is yet to issue a statement, as of the time of this report.

However, it had firmly rejected Trump’s Vision for Palestine, maintaining that all of its lands, including Jerusalem, belongs to it.

A member of the Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO) ,Hanan Ashrawi, in a reaction today, Thursday, strongly criticised the peace agreement, adding that it was an attempt to further cripple Palestine.

“Israel got rewarded for not declaring openly what it’s been doing to Palestine illegally and persistently since the beginning of the occupation.

” The UAE has come out in the open on its secret dealings/normalization with Israel.

“Please don’t do us a favor; we are nobody’s fig leaf!”, she tweeted.
