WHO Warns Countries Lifting Restrictions: This Pandemic Is Not Over
The World Health Organization (WHO) has urged countries to note that there is still a long road ahead and a lot of work to do towards curbing the pandemic.
“But the Pandemic is far from over; I repeat, the pandemic is far from over,” WHO’s Director, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, said at a press briefing in Geneva.

He also raised alarm about the rising cases in Africa, and other continents.
He stressed that due to low testing capacities, the actual covid-19 situation may be far more than what is reported.
“WHO continues to be concerned about the increasing trends in Africa, Eastern Europe, Latin America and some Asian countries.
“Cases are underreported in these regions because of low testing capacities,” he said.

He urged countries to continue to find, isolate, test and treat all cases and trace every contact to ensure a declining trends continue.
“WHO is doing everything we can to support all countries,” he said.
