This year, he earned 4 nominations: Best Melodic Rap Performance (“Sittin’ on Top of the World” ft. 21 Savage), Best Global Music Performance (Alone), Best African Music Performance (City Boys) and Best Global Music Album (I Told Them).

Burna Boy will also make history as the first Afrobeats artist to perform at the Grammys, alongside American artists Brandy and 21 Savage, according to Rolling Stone.

Davido

Davido is looking to earn his first Grammy win this year. He received his first ever nominations for Best Global Music Album (Timeless), Best African Music Performance (“Unavailable” ft. Musa Keys) and Best Global Music Performance (Feel).

Ahead of the ceremony, Davido said in an interview that he deserves to have won 20 Grammys already.

Asake

Rising Afrobeats sensation Asake scored a nomination for Best African Music Performance for his hit song “Amapiano.”

Since bursting onto the scene, Asake has become a household name in Nigeria with his energetic, uptempo Afrobeats and Amapiano-inspired tracks.

His second studio album ‘Work of Art’ was released in June 2023.
