Bye-Election: ICPC Arrests 3 Suspected Vote Buyers In Sokoto, Recover N3.1m

Three suspects have been arrested and detained by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) on Saturday in Sokoto State for allegedly buying votes from during the bye-election in the state.

A post on ICPC X (Twitter) handle said the trio were arrested by its operatives deployed to monitor Saturday’s bye-election in some parts of the state.

The commission said, “Three males aged 48,37, and 38 were caught in a polling unit of Yabo/Shagari Federal Constituency in Sokoto State with the sum of N3M, N105,400 million within the voting premises

“All suspects have been taken into the custody of the commission and investigations have commenced, ICPC will work with INEC in the prosecution of the cases,” the post stated.
