265 Nigerians From Dubai Arrive In Lagos

265 Nigerians, who were billed to arrive the country earlier on Wednesday from Dubai, have finally arrived in the country on an Emirates Airlines flight. 

According to the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria ( FAAN) Regional Manager, South- West, Mrs Victoria Shin-000Abah, the aircraft arrived at 7.30 pm.

THE WHISTLER had earlier reported that the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geofrey Onyeama, disclosed that the Nigerians would arrive in the country at 7pm. 

The 265 passengers were the first batch of Nigerians, stranded abroad amid the Coronavirus pandemic, to have been successfully evacuated.

The evacuees are said to have been taken into an  isolation centre prepared by the Lagos State Government and National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

Onyeama had also said discussion was ongoing with British Airways to airlift 300 Nigerians from London on Friday adding that  arrangements were also being made with Ethiopian Airlines for a flight from New York to Abuja next Monday.
