After 3rd Divorce, Shari’a Court Orders Woman Out Of Ex-Husband’s House
A Shari’a Court sitting in Kaduna State on Tuesday ordered Hassana Adamu to move out of her former husband Ilyasu’s house after the divorce confirmation.
The Judge, Malam Mu’awiya Shehu, gave the order in a ruling after confirming the divorce between the couple.
Earlier, Adamu’s lawyer, Mr Muhammad Abdullahi, prayed the court to dissolve the marriage through Khul’i.
Khuli’i is a type of divorce where a woman returns the dowry paid during the wedding to the husband in exchange for her freedom.
The counsel explained that his client was willing to return the N10,000 she received as dowry.

Iliyasu’s counsel, Mr M. B Usman, however, told the court that his client divorced Adamu twice.
“My client made the final and third divorce pronouncement on Aug. 17.
“Maybe she didn’t know about the final divorce pronouncement because she no longer lives with my client,” he said.
