BREAKING: Niger Republic Reports First Confirmed COVID-19 Case 

Niger Republic on Friday reported the country’s first case of coronavirus (COVID-19).

The Ministry of Health said in a statement that the patient was a 36-year-old Niger citizen who had recently travelled to Togo, Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire and Burkina Faso.

The health authority also said that the patient was in good condition and was receiving medical attention.

The country had shut its land borders and international airports in Niamey and Zinder, as part of measures to prevent the pandemic into the west African country.

On Friday, a total of 246,592 infected cases had been confirmed globally, while the death toll is 10,050. Also 88, 486 patients had recovered.
