UPDATED: Cubana Chief Priest Escapes Six Months Jail

Unlike Boborisky who got six months in jail for naira abuse, Cubana Chief Priest has struck a deal with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to settle out of court regarding the naira abuse case.

This was disclosed when the socialite and businessman appeared at the federal high court in Ikoyi, Lagos, on Thursday for the continuation of his case which stemmed from a three-count charge filed by the EFCC on April 16.

Cubana Chief Priest was accused of naira abuse, and after pleading not guilty, he was granted bail by Justice Kehinde Ogundare in the sum of N10 million, with stringent bail conditions to be met within seven days.

During the trial on Thursday, both parties consented to resolve the matter outside of court, leading to the adjournment of proceedings to June 5 for the hearing of the settlement report.

THE WHISTLER reported that Nigerian cross-dresser, Bobrisky (Idris Okuneye) was sentenced to six months in jail without the option of a fine by Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court in Lagos on April 12.

Bobrisky was arraigned by the EFCC on April 5 on charges related to abuse of the naira and money laundering. Although the money laundering charges were dismissed, Bobrisky was found guilty of naira abuse after pleading guilty to the offence.
