The Court of Appeal, Abuja, presided over by Justice Yahaya Datti, has granted the application filed by Adams Oshiomhole and ordered a stay of execution of the FCT High Court ruling.

The court granted the ex parte motion filed by Oshomole’s counsel, ordering a stay of execution of the ruling of the FCT high court.

The appeal hearing was presided by a three man panel led by Yahaya Datti.

Oshomole’s counsel Wole Olanipekun (SAN), told the court that the issues before the court was very serious, adding that two pilots cannot drive a ship.

Recall that the All Progressive Congress National president was suspended by a ruling of a trial court.

But Olanipekun asked the court to grant a motion exparte, telling all parties including the lower court to stay proceedings until the matter is concluded by the appeal court.

He also prayed the court to restrain APC from taking further steps and that the court should accelerate the trial.

“My Lord, time is of the essence; we want the court to intervene,” he said.

But the judge said that the court would not dabble into the affairs of a political party.

Olanipekun also told the court to grant the motion exparte, adding that the court could look at the motion on notice tomorrow.

The judge said he found merit in the motion ex parte.

“We have considered the application, we are of the view that an emergency picture has been painted so as to hasten the Court’s decision.

“We restrain the respondents from taking any steps,” he ruled.

He also urged the APC to resolve their internal conflict and not dragged the court into it.

He adjourned till 19 and 20 March to hear the motion on notice.

Oshomole also told newsmen that he would work towards resolving bitterness in the party.

The ruling means that the suspension of Oshiomhole has been lifted, and as such, he returns as party chairman.
